Zach & Amy
Chiang Mai, Thailand

Six months have passed since we were on American soil (embassies and consulates excluded). Though our silence over the last four of those months may have lead you to think otherwise, we are both alive and well. Obviously a lot has happened in the world since we last updated this site, some of which has made us think about returning home early (Most recently Zach was looking at flights back home so he could read the latest Harry Potter installment the day it came out. Fortunately Amy discovered it was simultaneously released here in Thailand).
Since becoming independent travelers in Africa the tone of our journey has really changed. On the overland trip the experiences were delivered right to us, our guides expertly dealt with all the hassles. Now three-quarters of our experience is the hassle between the experiences. Sometimes just finding a place to eat, a place to sleep, and a way to successfully get between the two when only half of what we say is understood satisfies our daily appetite for adventure.

Anyway, hopefully you will enjoy the new pages (What in the World? and More Than You Wanted to Know) as well as the journal, photo and other updates, though we have to apologize for the lack of Indian photos. The CD-roms we copied them onto worked fine in India, but not in Thailand.

22 June 2003 Quick Update
We managed to recover the India photos from the CD so we've added those pages to the Photo Galleries. With that comes more Droids, more Signs and a new journal entry about our time in Calcutta. There is also a new page to help you keep track of our latest changes. With this update we have reached the limit of our disk space, so we'll have to start deleting some of the older pictures, for now only Africa will be cut.
